Between bouts of rain, IF continues to make progress on a number of initiatives. Litter was recently picked up along the Miller Road trailhead of the Rail-Trail and the woods lining Mt Zion Cemetery. Portions of the WBC/IF-adopted section of the Rail-Trail have been swept, and volunteers will finish sweeping the rest of this stretch in the coming weeks. Several more sections of the sidewalk along Fulbright Avenue are in the process of being cleared as well.
In addition, a thorough dig has been completed at the Pinnell family plot at Mt. Zion, resulting in several more cast iron fence segments being reclaimed. These pieces and other sections uncovered earlier are undergoing rust removal and neutralization, priming, and painting. Once ready, they will be reattached to the fence.
