Flowers Blooming at Mt. Zion Cemetery

Five volunteers’ relentless efforts last fall are paying off. One by one, the 2,000 bulbs they planted at Mt. Zion Cemetery are flowering, enlivening six fenced family plots throughout the graveyard. Multiple varieties of crocuses are in full bloom, as well as a few early daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths. Adding to the scene, a row of Bradford pear trees are in full bloom on the cemetery’s edge. Muscari, grape hyacinths, and starflowers are sending out green shoots and will be blooming in the coming weeks as well. The bulbs will all be fertilized after blooming to ensure another splendid display next spring.
