From Monday, March 20, to Friday, March 24, Initiative Fractal will be hosting a series of workdays at Mt. Zion Cemetery, located on Fulbright Avenue in Walnut Ridge. Volunteers will be able to choose from a variety of projects, depending on their interests and experience. Possible tasks include painting fences, reattaching broken sections of cast iron fencing, resetting and cleaning headstones, and working with historic restoration mortar. Activities will take place from 8 am to 5 pm each day, but volunteers are welcome to come help for any length of time and any number of days.
Neither monetary compensation nor meals will be provided, but supplies will be provided at no cost. Parking will be available near the cemetery on Greensprings Rd. Restrooms are located nearby at Williams Baptist College's Felix Goodson Library, which will be open that week from 9 am to 4 pm. Interested groups or individuals are encouraged to RSVP and/or request further information using the contact tab on this website.
